Hot day 104 degrees, driving interstate, got into stop and go construction, car would just die and stop. Restart drive a few miles lose power and recover. Added Heet gas dryer, worked last few times on road trip cooler weather., No improvement. Called AAA, requested tow, one hour wait, car would idle, 20 minutes, car recovered enough to complete Almost, to VW Dealer, then had to call for tow, car would stall if under power.
No codes, talked with VW Dealer, asked to try to stall car, hard accelerate when stalling, still no codes.
Left car with dealer, checked fuel pressure, filter, test drove car, same fuel, no problem found.
Recommended high octane Chevron, completed trip, took to local trouble shooter mechanic, recommended same.... no Costco or Fred Meyer fuel. Car runs stronger, no stalls only Supreme or Mid range, Chevron
