I really hate to complain about my car, because I love it, but it must have been a lemon. It seems unfathomable to me that the transmission died. I had always heard that the TDIs lived long lives and retained their value. To have the transmission completely die, and the dealer not help was very disappointing. I am not a maniac driver, nor had I been in any sort of accident that beat up my car. I haven't heard of anyone else with a 2005 Jetta TDI having the same problem. I am nervous now about getting another VW because of the lack of assistance from the dealer, which is really too bad because I'd love to buy a Golf Clean Diesel.
