The secondary air pump (the thing that injects air into the exhaust while the catalytic converter is warming up). They are a clam shell design (two sides). They are riveted together with pop rivets. Prior to failing it just coming apart you can install stainless steel machine screws and lock nuts. If you don't get to it before it fails you have to buy a completely new pump.
