About a month ago this Jetta start failing with the engine light on, the next day the car started to shake, harder and harder each time. Then we took it to the mechanic who put the computer on it to check for solutions, he came out that the car needed a complete tune up. He replaced the spark plugs, the wires, the gas filter, the air filter, this job cost us $ 402.13 labor and parts. After this we test the car and everything was running OK but the next day the same problem started again.. We have been asking other mechanics and all of them suggest the same that we already did..
So I look on the internet for similar problems with the Jettas and I found that there was a recall on 2003 for the 2002 Jettas because of a faulty coil problem with them.. We then called the VW dealer to check but they told us by phone that this Jetta was not on the recall. Then we, as our last option because of the charge, took our Jetta to the dealer so they can diagnose what could be the problem. After 1 1/2 hours of checking the car, their mechanic came out with a big list of possible solution... RO # 193746, with a total of parts and labor of: $ 2381.42 us dollars..
With this kind of money I can buy another Jetta of the same year, this is awful... and we don't have all this money... That's why we are here trying to find any help..
