While my wife was driving at 65mile per hour....the made in brazil, summit tire P195/65R15 drivers side rear tire...inside tread failed. The blowout, broke five bands, and lost about four square inches of tire at the blowout site. Tires are inflated to 35psi, and shows no sign that it was caused by impact damage. The tires had been replace less then two years ago, and had about twentfive thousand miles on them at the time. Damage was caused to the rim, wheel cover and wheel locks by a roadside tech. Whom attempted to change the tire. I was able to replace tire and have a new one installed at the tire center where it was originally purchased. The tire tech. Indicated that the other tire that I wanted replaced at the sametime was a "good tire", and as noted by myself and the tire tech. Still had not reached the wear gage. I explained that the two tires had been replaced at the same time...and due to the blowout, I did not feel that the batch maybe defective.
