Drove car several times that day. Was away from home at friends home. About 9 pm was heading home, pouring down rain. Started car, went to put in reverse, shifter would not move. Depressed brake pedal a few times, still nothing. Called AAA to tow me home. Been trying to figure this problem out for 2 days, still nothing. Called three VW dealers, the mechanics had no clue what the problem could be. Been reading on VW Forum sites that this happens a lot on Jettas. What gives??
I can't believe that a VW transmission would fail after such a short period - especially when compared to the Japanese imports! and of course VW didn't help at all!
