first off my steering wheel column smokes. im thinking but not positive it is the electrical system because of the HORRIBLE electrical system it has...being that no other normal car does not do this the mechanics look at me like i have 5 heads when i tell them this and dont believe me although i do have witnesses. I feel very unsafe driving my car but have no choice im a young girl trying to get by in life with this car. second my 3rd window in my car just went last week due to the horrible electrical system. my back 2 windows went first now my passenger door went. I have to suction cup my windows! These cars a very unsafe for anybody to drive. My friend has a 97 vw gulf and her steering wheel column smokes as well...luckily she has the roll down windows. Vw should be held responsible for these considering its obviously not our faults why these cars are the way they are. They should say when someone goes to buy a vw "this car will have severe electrical problems after 100,000 miles if not sooner BEWARE"
