I have to constantly tighten the alternator and cooling system belts. I have gone thru 5 belts in 1 year and still have to listen to squealing, to top it off it is easier to replace the alternator than the belt as it is pinned underneath two other belts. If it were possible to set up a pulley that was in direct line with water pump and eliminate the stupid air conditioning, I could eliminate the tensioner pulley as well which would make tightening a cinch.
