Called VW Customer service to attempt to get partial/full reimbursement. According to call center representative, VW would not be able to provide any compensation for my expenses. This is the second coolant related issue I have had with this car. The first was a replacement of the thermostat housing. Fortunately, this was covered under warranty when it occurred.

Golf SportWagen SE 1.8L V4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 39,000 miles

"!" Light and "Check engine coolant" warning lights stay lit. Although the car warns that my coolant levels might be low, the car does not overheat and coolant levels are where they should be. Furthermore, this issue arose a month after bringing my car in for it's 40,000 mile service at the VW dealership.
