Bought brand new 2015 GTI 3 years ago and the clutch went out at 4k miles under normal driving conditions. Brought the car back to the dealership's service dept. Fleet mechanic denied replacement/refurbishment. Blamed it on me due to "personal driving habits". I have a 1985 Ford Ranger with the original clutch in it for Christ's sake. Experienced burning smell for 6 months. Last week (March 2018) clutch went completely dead and same burning smell with 20k miles. Called in and wouldn't even give me a quote on the work regardless of my warranty. My apologies to whomever reads this for not filing a complaint earlier in my ownership. Taking it for service/warranty work elsewhere.
