The contact took the vehicle to ganley bedford imports (250 broadway ave, bedford, oh 44146) where it was diagnosed with a sun roof drainage pipe failure which resulted in damages to the wires and connectors from the water leaking into the vehicle. The wires and connectors were replaced, however the failure recurred. The contact stated that the electrical components were not operating as designed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact to take the vehicle back to the dealer for assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 32,951.
The contact owns a 2017 Volkswagen Golf. The contact stated that the sun roof was leaking and stained the headliner. The manufacturer stated that the warranty was expired by 1,000 miles; therefore, the contact would be responsible for the repair cost. Volkswagen of rochester (20 farmington rd, rochester, nh 03867, (603) 332-6242) removed the spider traps on the drains for the sun roof. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 36,500.
