It appears this is a recurring problem relating to VW's which they need to fix

Golf TSI 1.8L L4 Turbocharged

  • Automatic transmission
  • 63,083 miles

The car is immaculate, 100k KMs, serviced regular, even has the VW inspections done at the required intervals.

After being gouged for $205 for spark plugs and fitting, I'm wary of taking it in to have this issue fixed. I would rather search for a reputable mechanic outside the dealership.

Right now I have no airbag, no console controls, and no cruise control. It seems to be one thing after another with this car.
