As the rusted out exhaust system caused the brake valve to overheat, (according to VW) this vaporises the fluid and the brake system fails as there is no pressure left if the system.
According to VW, this is a maintenance problem with the exhaust system and therefore my responsibility. Unless I crash my car and it becomes theirs
