Plastic coated interior is crap. Stereo knobs, lock buttons, window controls, switches are all peeling. Literally started after warranty. Called VW US corp office and they don't want to recognize this problem. Every forum, blog, review site, etc. discusses this issue and owners are disgusted with the lack of concern. Even most antique cars don't have plastic parts that peel.
Unless you're leasing the car or will only keep it for 3 yrs, its crap plastic that is 100% guaranteed to wear-off. I was looking to the new beetle, but after this experience, why would I want to even think of faulty, second rate materials.
Someone needs to help start a class action law suit.
