Transmission problem occurred suddenly. Shifting is jerky as if the clutch is not being engaged and is thrown into gear. Transmission fluid maintenance was done at 40,000 miles.
Repairs were attempted at a transmission shop, but after going through 3 bad used transmissions, they gave up. The dealership quoted $5600 to repair by replacing with a new transmission. They had just repaired another 2012 EOS with the same issue, and had gone through 2 bad used transmissions before they found a good used one.
VW/Audi specialist shop quoted $5800 to repair.
Another 2012 VW EOS owner in neighborhood had the same issue.
