Why is it recommended that a car, hardly driven (29K, yrs old) that it's more economical for an owner of the car to pay estimated $2,000 for A/C overhaul opposed to component troubleshooting and replacement. Estimate includes - AC condenser containing receiver drier, decompressor, expansion valve, and complete VW flush procedure. Two thousand dollars is substantial - especially for only 3 minimal seasons of use - with no leak or AC fluid loss. Please advise?
