I feel like having a transmission go out on a 6 year old car with 70,000 miles that is regularly serviced is not something we should have to be dealing with this soon. Plus we live 2 hours away from a dealership so we had to use an automotive place that had VW certified mechanics since they are near a university 15 minutes from our home. Our car was on their lot for 6 weeks leaving me to borrow & bum rides to work and lunch, home and appts. First transmission sent was wrong, ordered another and finally 6 weeks later we finally got it back. There were other issues then but that's another discussion. In retrospect I wish we had gone to the dealership, but who knows, it could have happened there. I have had a Nissan Maxima that was still running smoothly at over 150,000 miles. Was I wrong to expect as much out of Volkswagen? Anyone else have transmission problems? Maybe this is one of the reasons they have stopped making them! I loved my convertible, probably going to trade it though. Has given me a bad taste for VW.
Thanks!
