The contact owns a 2010 Volkswagen Eos. While driving at approximately 50 mph, the contact noticed a rumbling noise and a speed warning light illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for a diagnostic test. The technician stated that a piece of metal under the hood became loose and was causing the noise. The failure continued after the removal of the metal. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer. The technicians replaced a part in the transmission, but the contact was not aware of which part was replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 11,000. Updated 06/05/12 the dealer stated the flywheel was defective.
