When this originally happened, I took the car to the dealership and they told me I needed my intake manifold replaced. At the time there was just hesitation upon acceleration and it only happened sometimes. The intake manifold replacement cost me $2,000.00. A few months later, it started happening again and this time the I was completely without acceleration. I couldn't get the RPM's up. I took the car back to the dealership. They wanted $100 to put the car back on the computer to see what is wrong. I said no and I was done without that dealership. I took my car to an independent mechanic and after diagnosis said it was the ignition coils and spark plugs. Had those replaced and worked fine for about 3 months. Then it happened again, no acceleration, no ability to increase RPM's. Now it happens about every 3 months and my husband put a spare coil in the glove box. He just replaces it every time it happens, it's always a different coil misfiring and it's really annoying. Just recently it happened while driving over a pass which really sucked. Couldn't fix it until I got home. Wish I knew how to prevent this. The final fix.
