STAY AWAY!!!! I bought this car in Sept 2015 with 39,000 miles on it. It is under an extended warranty and glad for that as i would be in huge debt if not. Lets start with the problems... Water pump failed around 20,000 miles (before I got it) and that should have been a red flag before i purchased. Check engine light came on at 41,000 miles with a head gasket leak which took a week to repair. 45,000 miles i was driving home from work on the freeway and the car slammed into limp mode on the freeway. This was very scary as in San Diego when everyone drives 80 on the freeway, i could have been rear ended as the car slowed to 25mph. At 50,000 miles from a stop, the car would start to go after pushing on the gas and then slam out of gear which would only go back into gear after turning the car completely off and on again. The dealership said that there was a blown fuse and that "fixed the issue." At 53,000 miles, the car is now in the shop as the car started to make a very loud click/tick under the hood. Turns out it was an exhaust manifold leak which now will take the dealership over a week to fix.
I will certainly be selling my car before the extended warranty expires in a couple of months. This car is nothing but problems and I will never be purchasing another VW for as long as I live.
