The contact owns a 2012 Volkswagen Cc. The contact stated that the horn was not working because the clockspring was malfunctioning. The vehicle was taken to charles maund Volkswagen (6900 burnet rd, austin, tx 78757, (512) 458-1111) to be repaired per an unknown recall pertaining to the clockspring. After the repair, the failure recurred within a few days. When the contact called the dealer, they wanted to charge $1,000 to repair the vehicle again. The contact called the manufacturer and was advised to go back to the dealer to have the clockspring reset. The dealer informed the contact that the clocksprings were designed faulty, but they and the manufacturer did not want to pay for a new part. The vehicle had not been repaired for approximately nine months. The contact called the dealer again last week, but had not received a call back. The failure mileage was 88,000.
