The contact owns a 2012 Volkswagen Cc. The contact stated that the rear brake lights kept failing to work and the brake light illuminated on the instrument panel. The failure occurred six times. An independent mechanic stated that there was an issue with the driver's side of the vehicle after researching it on the internet. The contact called the manufacturer and was informed to get the brake lights repaired and keep the receipts to get reimbursed in the event a recall was issued. Volkswagen of fredericksburg (5208 jefferson davis hwy, fredericksburg, va 22408, (540) 898-1600) stated that there was a wiring malfunction in the trunk, which caused the brake lights to go out. The contact found out that the dealer misled her on other maintenance issues. The contact no longer trusted the dealer and had the lights repaired by an independent mechanic. The failure mileage was 74,000.
