So, I took my car in (2012 VW CC Sport 2012) because the check engine light was on, I was told it was the 'knock sensor" and that the repair would be about $550.00. Most of which was labor because of where the sensor is located. However; when they got down to the sensor, I was told the water pump was bad, and there was a small amount of coolant leakage. So, I gave the okay to go ahead and fix both items, now we are at $1263.00!!

Picked my car up on Friday morning, drove 5 miles to work (it made a funny noise briefly once or twice, but I did not think much of it, since I just had the car worked on), parked the car for the day, and left work at 5:15pm. I drove approximately 5 miles to Costco, got my groceries, and got gas when I was done. I started the engine , and it was SHUDDERING, SHAKING; acting as it was going to quit, the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT started flashing, and the EPC light came on... PANIC.

I called the mechanic, and told him what happened (Friday after 6:00pm ) He initially told me to drive the car home and I could drop it off Monday morning. My instincts said NO, because I live 40 minutes away. Had the car towed back immediately. Mechanic called me and told me what the issue is…

Everything started about a month after I drove the car off the car lot. Problems after problems with my CC. I was so happy i purchased the extended warranty. But was extremely annoying. Once my light turned on it has been problems and issues. Code after code. This code was ignition coils 1 and 2, which led to other code once I replaced them........ to be continued....

I have only noted this one problem with our 2012 VW CC -- though the car is a TOTAL LEMON and has been in the shop with significant problems (mostly engine related, but also everything on down to needing to replace the entire stereo system) since we purchased it, new in 2012. We purchased an extended warranty, thankfully, but now the engine light is back on, the car is limping along and looks to have a transmission failure, the warranty has expired, and we are STILL PAYING OFF THE ORIGINAL VOLKSWAGEN CAR LOAN! I have had two VW's in the past and they always were solid machines and I was proud to own them. This car is a complete piece of junk and I wish we had some recourse as to what to do. SHAME ON VOLKSWAGEN! They should step up and take ownership of this problem. It is not fair to the consumer and I would never purchase another VW - CC or otherwise -- again.

I purchased my 2012 Volkswagen CC sport 2/28/15. On 3/27/15 the check engine light came on. I had the car towed to the nearest VW dealer. I was advised that the following major components on my engine are bad at 63,000 miles:

Valves Camshaft Timing Chain Tensioners Brackets Camshaft Sensors

The car will be in maintenance longer then I have owned it!

CC Sport 2.O Turbo

  • Automatic transmission
  • 62,000 miles

The car misfired and almost caused a wreck. If I didn't quick think the shift over to the power shift and down shift to 4 gear and rev- up the misfiring engine I would have been hit by a large dump truck.

Under a 100K miles. Need to be corrected by "German Engineering" HAHA. I am 100% German heritage

Maybe this is my first and last German Engineer vehichle.
