My engine light came on AGAIN and the car was running bad AGAIN so I took the car to an authorized VW repair shop. The code was showing it was the PCV. I had that replaced and thought my worries were over. I WAS WRONG.
Update from Aug 29, 2018: Less than a month later the dealer is saying I need ANOTHER PCV less than a month later, ANOTHER tune-up, and rear main seal and upper timing cover replaced. This is ludicrous!!!!! VW is a joke!!! Their engines need to be recalled.
My engine light is on AGAIN! instead of taking my car back to the authorized VW repair shop I went to the VW dealer. Also while I was there I had the Takata SDI driver inflator recall part done (I'd been placed on a waiting list at Serra VW and never informed they had the part in).
After my car was inspected I was informed I needed a new PCV. I just had that repaired!!!! The parts were purchased from the dealer, I asked for the receipt.
They also recommended a tune-up. I had a full tune-up in December and haven't driven the car enough to need another one already.
I informed them those things had already been taken care of by an AUTHORIZED VW repair shop and gave them the name of the shop (a very reputable company).
After informing them the PCV had been taken care of less than a month ago, they hit me with "oh there are a few other problems" and proceeded to say I needed a rear main seal and upper timing cover, a $2,000.00 fix.
This car is becoming a headache, BUYERS BEWARE. I've been doing some research on this car and everyone is having the same issues. VW needs to recall the engine!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wonder if we can start a CLASS ACTION SUIT against them. They've got to be aware of these problems with all of the complaints.
I had an appointment to go get the recall items replaced, the fuel pump control module and ANOTHER airbag recall. They didn't have the airbag recall item so I was placed on a waiting list. What is going on with all these recalls?????
The fuel pump control module was replaced but the engine light is still on. I was hoping the new battery along with replacing the recalled part would take care of that. Also, the car is still sputtering/jerking when I press the gas to accelerate. Now I have to schedule an appointment to find out why. So frustrating!!!!!!
