problem #2

Dec 212014

CC R-Line 2.0t V4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 62,000 miles

Car will jerk at low gears. Transmission will ram when going prom “drive” to any other gear. I must set it in park, turn off the car and turn it back on if I want to switch to “reverse”. Transmission will rarely jam when going from “reverse” to “drive”. When transmission jams, car acts like if it was in neutral. Rarely, the car will get stuck in a low gear and wont shift up or down. I must turn off and on the car for the transmission to start working properly again.

The only advice that I have: do not buy any VW and AUDI, you will regret this forever.

I'm a previous owner of 2010 VW CC, I bought it used certified. I notice the problem in the beginning and since then, got worst and worst. Finally after all the dealership visits, and of course after all the service excuses, that is the way that sporty, fast and efficient transmission works. Finally, finally, the transmission completely failed! Almost 5000$ repair costs, which luckily was cover by extended warranty.

They installed brand new transmission with mechatronic unit. After all that torture, after all that jerking, jogging, jumping, refusing to go forward, pounding and so on... It was a nightmare, and after the replacement I thought it was over, but NO- the replacement accrued in mid 2013 and right after the story started to repeating AGAIN! I traded the six months after the replacement since I didn't wanted to wait, didn't have money for another breakdown but, most importantly, didn't wanted to go through this again!

P.S. The reason I'm saying no to Audi, because I drove my friend's brand new 2013 A4 and guess what, exactly the same issue! Previously I had 2006 VW Passat and I regret that I sold it, 145 K miles not a single break down! Same acceleration, same fuel economy- I'm just wondering why did VW changed the perfectly working components without any improvements!
