I was driving my car headed out of town and noticed while driving my car started to accelerating on its on almost causing me to almost lose control and hit the person in front of me putting me and my family life in danger. We ended up turning around to head back home and on the way home we started smelling a strong gas the smell was so loud we ended up pulling over and calling for a ride also when stopped at a light or stop sign to long I noticed the vehicle would jump out of driving and switch into a different gear on it's own casing me to have to put my emergency signal lights on and restart the vehicle in order to get it back into driving everytime that happened I would notice that the D on the dashboard would be gone I ended up taking my vehicle to the dealership VW in bradenton fl so it could be looked at it had recalls it they also listed a few other things they needed to do so after them so called fixing it the cost I had to pay was $1,555.88 so as I left I noticed the engine light was back on the car was still doing the same thing like it never was fixed I called the dealer and they told me to bring it back next Friday I ended up stopping to to check my oli level and noticed that VW dealer mechanic forgot to put my oil back in my car after fixing a small drip that they said wasnt that argent to fix and in I decided to go ahead and let them do anyways before I dropped my car off to VW I had just got a oil change 2 days before at this point I'm so hurt I'm a patient of 1 without a car now all because the VW forgot to put my oil back into my car when they got done my car is destroyed my $1,555.88 >is gone my motor had no oil in and all I got was a sorry everything I worked worked hard from was taken away from me all in a blink of a eye😢

Police officer pulled over my vehicle due to speeding while my speedometer read the exact speed limit. My speedometer needle fluctuates in speed (moves up and down randomly) even with cruise control on. Also same problem for the tachometer. This is a defective item and can cause and or accumulate to a car accident and or death. I have read on countless forums of Volkswagen owners stating their newer Volkswagen models have incorrect speed readings I have even checked with a handheld gps system and it did not read what was displayed on my speedomenter.

When either slowing down or coming to a stop my car starts jerking, I attempt to accelerate and I cannot, my car seems to going into a neutral state. The drive (D) gear flashes so I am stuck. I have to put my car into park (P) turn off my car in the middle of traffic then turn it back on to drive. Also, if I am in the drive (D) gear and I need to go in reverse (R) I have to put into park (P) then turn it off and then move into the reverse (R) gear. This started happening intermittently, I took it to VW and they didn't see anything wrong with it. I took it to the local O'reillys and they saw a P2711 code, I took it to a local transmission repair and they told me they get a lot of these complaints and suggested I report it to you.I I also called the VW dealership in tallahassee fl where I purchased my car they told me it could cost anywhere from $5000 to $1100 to fix. In my research I saw the same thing happened in australia where a lady died because the gear shifted from drive into neutral while she was driving. I am afraid for my safety and my daughters who ride with me. VW needs to recall the dsg transmission and implement a fix.

The contact owns a 2010 Volkswagen Cc. While the vehicle was idling at a traffic light, the accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the contact stated that the rpms increased to 3,500; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate. The contact stated that the gear shifter felt as if the vehicle shifted into sport mode. The drive icon illuminated. While attempting to depress the accelerator pedal again, the engine revved, but the vehicle failed to accelerate. The contact had to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to mckinney Volkswagen dealer at (855) 402-5098 located at 3600 S central expy, mckinney, tx 75070 where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced; however, the dealer stated that the engine could not be taken apart. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced; however, the mechatronic control module was replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact was provided a case number. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000.

The engine light is on in my vehicle and I found out there is an unexpected mechanical gear disengagement (trouble code P2711). The dealership quoted $2,400 suggesting me to replace clutch packs, after I spent $140 simply for diagnosis. I saw that VW used to provide a safety recall and extended warranty for dsg transmission for certain models in 2007 to 2010. I also found online that there are many reported dsg-related failures. I, just as many VW owners do, have experienced delays at shift points, causing erratic shifting, jerking, long stall pauses, clutch slipping, surging in forward and reverse, etc. While the car is either accelerating, passing or cruising. However, my 2010 VW Cc (55K mileage) is not under this extended warranty. I think it's very ridiculous, since I've taken good care of my vehicle, but have already experienced 3 safety recall (including takata recall and fuel pump recall), and this time they refuse to reimburse my costs incurred by their commonly-known dangerous transmission failure. I'm already hugely influenced by this model's safety recalls, and don't want to pay $2400 for their design defects. Even if I repair it at my own expense, it's hard to say such a bad transmission will not cause other danger or trouble in the future. If this is the same dsg transmission that's reported to be troublesome, their warranty/recall should be fairly provided to all influenced vehicles. Thank you for your time!

This 2010 Volkswagen Cc was purchased as a cpo in 2012 with 33K miles on it. Second owner. With no warning, clutch failed completely with only 43K miles, and gears would not engage, I made a sudden sharp left turn to the road side, lost control of the car, depressed brake hard to forcefully stop the car with third gear engaged. An online search shows that many other VW Cc and golf (2010, 2012 models) have had clutch failures with approximately the same mileage. Also, there is a VW technical service bulletin (VW 2028783) which shows there is a clutch assembly issue with the car and directs dealers to replace clutch kit for those defect models. I contacted VW customer care as this is a safety issue, and as I in no way abused the clutch. Also, informed them that this Cc is still within the 2yr/24K mile cpo warranty. VW customer opened a case, however, the case manager claimed that the clutch is not included in the powertrain warranty and that VW would not authorize repair, even though they are aware of the fact that they updated the parts and have distributed the tsb due to premature failure.
