I purchased my 2010 Volkswagen CC in November 2011. It was a certified pre-owned vehicle at the time of it’s purchase. Problems with the vehicle started less than 6 months later. Nothing was covered under the extended warranty I purchased nor has Volkswagen been willing to help. The repairs I have completed on this car since 2011 include: Intake Manifold, Catalytic Converter, Replacing all ignition coils (TWICE!), Replacing oil pan, Replacing sensor in gas tank, Replace Alternator, Replace oil reservoir, Replace Battery, Tensioner, Timing Belt/Chain, Solenoid valve replacement

And, now, at present the car is sitting in front of my house with a complete catastrophic computer failure… a $4300 repair …. and surprise! Volkswagen won’t help. The sum and total of the assistance they would offer me is a $1000 loyalty voucher if I wanted to trade the vehicle in on a brand new Volkswagen. Now why on earth would I want to do that after the problems I have had with this one and the lack of assistance Volkswagen has demonstrated with regard to these issues? Bear in mind I have meticulously maintained this vehicle AT VW DEALERSHIPS and always used Super Premium Unleaded gasoline.

When the computer went out this week I called VW America Customer Service and asked them to send a tow truck to take it to the dealership - thinking they would AT LEAST cover that cost to tow the vehicle in given the now $14,300 worth of engine work that has been required on a vehicle I am still paying for. They declined my request for assistance. After a quick online search I discovered that of the 45 Technical Service Bulletins (TSB’s) on the 2010 Volkswagen CC - I have experienced 28 of the 45 known and reported issues in the last 3 years.

I called VW Customer Care again and was met with flat out sarcasm in my request for assistance. Again they offered a loyalty voucher. Seriously. When I asked to speak with a supervisor they refused - claiming that one was not available to talk to me. Everything about this experience, this car, and this company is awful and I am actively looking for an attorney to hold Volkswagen accountable.

I have had this car for less than 2 years. Biggest mistake I have ever made was buying this car. Nothing but problems... EXPENSIVE problems. My check engine light came on 3 weeks ago and was coding misfiring. Took it to our local mechanic and he could not figure out the problem. Finally, after two weeks, we got it towed to VW dealership in town. Found out the engine was blown! Although covered under my extended warranty, STILL a pain and considering the problems with this 2.0 L turbo engine, why hasn't VW done a recall!?

engine lost compression.... engine needs replaced 4500.00

I would have a much better expectation for the quality of VW and its engineering. The 2010 has a significant amount of engine problems ... far higher than any other year. The cost of replacement is substantial. VW offers no help since out of warranty. SO its suck it up and come up with the 4500 to 5500 dollar repair........It will discourage me from buying any further VW cars. My dad owned VW bugs s for 35 years... but I will not buy anymore. VW has high replacement cost for parts... they have been found to be in violation of emission controls... Not sure whats happening with this co. but not so good IMO.

I purchased the car a couple of years ago and have numerous serious issues with engine related items. More specifically, the rear main seal, timing belt and other major engine work. Currently, I have been given a $3500 bill for major engine issues again. I am more than disappointed. I was going to purchase another VW for my daughter. However, I am now never going to purchase or recommend any to purchase a VW.

Further, I was told that there was no recourse on parts, labor or recalls. I am so disappointed that I made a wrong decision to purchase what I thought was a car with a reputable history.

I bought this car thinking that I will have a car that will get great gas mileage for my commute to and from work. Only had the car since October of last year. I got my oil changed December or January and was driving the car and all of a sudden the check engine oil light came on. I was shocked to see that, seeing that I never say any oil leaking on the ground. So I hurried to the closest gas station and got some good oil to put in it. It was still running fine. Two weeks later I washed the car and was on the way home when I noticed it was not idling right. I drove it to the nearest place to have it checked. The codes it was giving Miscellaneous misfires, 0300,0301,0302,0303,0304 and the cam over crank . Service soon light was on, it was still driving fine after take off. Then the service engine light came on and it cut off on me, without warning. I am a part of a vwcc owners club and there are people on there with vw ccs with catastrophic engine failure wit 42k miles on the car and it was a 2012. This seems to be a serious problem and Volkswagen need to address this issue. Since I bought the car I have always put super unleaded gas in my car. Now I can't even drive it at all. Purchasing this car was the worst mistake I have ever made in my life. I have a $17000 car and it is a worthless POS.

Car began misfiring at 62K and my local mechanic diagnosed the problem as carbon buildup on the valves which they were not equipped to fix. They said that I should take it back to VW which I did and they Charged me $800 to remove the intake manifold and manually clean the valves. They tried to clean the vales first with BG induction service which didn't work. I call VW Hqs and they agreed to credit me the $300 cost of the induction service toward the valve cleaning. My car was in the shop 15 days and I spent countless hours on the phone with the dealer and VW Hqs. It appears that this 2.0 liter engine in direct injection where the gas is injected directly into the combustion chamber and doesn't flow over the valves to keep them clean. In my opinion this is a design flaw and should be addressed by VW.

AutoNation VW ran diagnostic to report that the car needed to have the intake value removed and cleaned, as well as the injectors cleaned due to the quality of the gasoline that is being sold. The car underwent the 40K mile service in June 2013 and there was NO mention of a potential issue with the automobile, even though it had been into the shop prior for the same light on the dash. After spending nearly $800.00 on the car in June was astonished when they told me that this visit would run an additional $953.00. I explained my position and that I would not be authorizing repair, they offered a small discount but it isn't worth it to me when the car runs great. I just wanted the light off my dash and they couldn't even seem to make that happen for the $115.00 that they charged to run the diagnostic, which would have ran me about $45.00 at the local repair shop...what a racket! I don't plan on returning and highly doubt that I will own another VW or fuel injected automobile.

Well, after they replaced the intake manifold, because that's what they thought was wrong, the check engine light is back on, and now I have to call the garage again to have another appointment made for them try and figure out whats wrong with the car. Great... This will be the second try, if they can't get it this time or the 3rd time this car is going for the lemon law treatment....

The check engine light came on, so I got out the rather large binder of a owners manual and it said it was something to do with the emissions system. So I made an appointment at the Volkswagen garage and went there about a week later. The light was on and off during that week sporadically. The garage said they needed to order a new intake manifold and said they wanted me to call them in a few days to see if it came in (I didn't think that was my job to do) I ended up calling 3 times and no part, the 4th time I called they had it but the manifold was cracked and the guy said it looked as if it was thrown very hard. He noted that this sort of thing happens all the time. So I waited another week for the part, and finally had it installed.
