trans would not shift out of 1st on a triple digit day
change valve body and temp sensor harness but happened again
Of course the dealer wants to replace the whole transmission but why at 66000 miles and $6500.00 and i owe $4000.00 its ridiculous. At this point i don't recommend getting into a VW.
I have taken it to a mechanic that has worked in VW dealership for years and is stumped why the transmission will not shift on a really hot day, A/C on high even after a new valve body and temperature sensor harness inside the transmission has been replaced. The tach goes to 3000 rpms and slow motion in D and will not automatic shift.
When the car cools for an hour and A/C is not on the car behaves perfectly. No the engine does not overheat
A really terrible situation. I bought this car believing it would be the most reliable car i ever owned. .
