The contact owns a 2007 Volkswagen Beetle. The contact stated that the vehicle had an electrical system failure on the driver's side. On occasion, several attempts were needed in order to start the vehicle. It was brought to the dealer, North point Volkswagen, but they could not locate the cause of the failure. The contact also stated that the trunk fails to open properly. When the key or interior trunk release latch was used, the trunk opened, but then immediately closed. The dealer replaced the trunk actuator, struts, and locks, but the contact still continued to experience a failure with the trunk. Also, the contact stated that the radio activated while the vehicle's doors were ajar and the keywas not in the ignition. The dashboard would become hot as well. These failures would last approximately one hour. The current and failure mileage were 17,000.
