My car has been well maintained, always by VW.. I never received any notice of problems or extensions on the transmission.. I was on the freeway a couple months ago and my car went into neutral all by itself and nearly caused an accident.. It has happened a couple times where I've nearly been rear ended.. When is VW going to fix this problem? When somebody's killed?
I called VW headquarters and was told it was 4 years past the 5 year warranty and even though it was under 60,000 miles that they could do nothing to help me.. I spent 1,700.00 on a platinum warranty for nothing.. The car looks new but the top won't go down, lights keep going out and the battery has been replaced several times.. This was the last car I was ever going to buy.. I'm retired and live on a income of $800.00 a month.. It's $6000.00 for a new transmission and the cars not even worth that.. I think VW should be responsible for recalling all the vehicles that were made with these faulty transmissions.. I'm sure there has been accidents and deaths that have occurred due to their negligence.. I will never buy another VW again and neither should anybody else.. Such a shame!
