VW will not acknowledge this problem. It was less than 3 months out of warranty and under the mileage warranty by 1500 miles.
Import Connection in Hendersonville, NC has had the car for 8 months. Greg said it is unsafe to drive. The dangerous downshifting has happened to him twice. During these months, Mr. Parham has tried to get some cooperation from VW. This has not happened. I have contacted VW by mail, phone, email. No one will accept the faulty parts on this vehicle. This Beetle was kept in the garage, oil changed like clockwork.
This was my fourth VW and my last. It has to do with the computer in the shift mechanism
