Purchased a new VW Atlas, it had a pre-existing minor damage on dashboard but I accepted the vehicle. The vehicle operated well. My wife actually liked it.
When I took the vehicle for the first oil change to my friend's shop instead of dealership (dealership offered 1st oil change for free), my friend immediately discovered major oil leak from the transfer case. I did not get the oil change done at this time.
I went to the VW dealership and left my vehicle for few days because they had to order the replacement transfer case.
Once picked up my vehicle and returned to my friend's shop to get my oil change again, they found a possible oil leak from the transfer case again. My friend cleaned the transfer case to double check the problem (it was an oil leak).
A few days later, I returned to my friend's shop to confirm the oil leak. Yes, it is still leaking. My vehicle only has 5000 miles because I don't usually drive. My friend told me why I purchased VW because oil leak is common problem for VW. As a matter of fact, my friend said, "your car is not bad compare to other new VWs."
