I believe we need a class action to get VW to do something about it or somebody will get hurt !! The vehicle slams the brakes on when driving out of a driveway even in Riverside Ca. where I live and we don't normally get very much rain so the road is not crowded very much and yet I am hesitant to pull out when I see cars coming towards me because I don't know when the brakes will activate or not . The solution is the sensors are too low and or need to be adjusted up, but when I took it to VW they said they can't adjust them because they are where they are designed to be at. So nothing will be done! Lemon Law maybe.
The Atlas collision avoidance system kicks in when going down the driveway in parking lots to enter the roadway or when going into my garage. This has happened on multiple occasions. It brings the vehicle to a complete and abrupt stop when there is no obstruction in front of the vehicle. Apparently it perceives the actual road as a hazard. This is dangerous and can cause an accident when trying to enter the street from a driveway. It causes me and my passengers a lot of anxiety. Is Volkswagen investigating this issue? Do they have a remedy for it?
