The contact owns a 2010 Toyota Yaris. The contact stated that there was burning odor from the heating and air conditioning unit. The contact also felt an intense shock when she opened the door. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where some unknown substance was sprayed into the vent area which made the smell more intense. There were no warning lights. The dealer offered no assistance in remedying the problem. The contact called the manufacturer who stated that they would have a representative to inspect the vehicle; no one had come to investigate. The failure mileage was approximately 8,000 and the current mileage was 8,300.
