rear brake drum coil to brake lever is taught and stuck
We were trying to replace the rear brake drum on my 2008 Toyota Yaris hatchback with a manual transmission and did the right side with no problems. The left side however did not want to close with the new brakes. When we compared the two together the silver metal brake lever didn't sit flush with the pad like the other side did. The coil or spring which was attached to it was too tight and taught while the right side was loose. We researched and found out that many others were having these type of issues with their brand new Yaris' that are barely 2 years old.
