This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
I have been trying to have this recall taken care of at key west Toyota they have made no effort to remedy this situation. I have emailed and called numerous time with never getting a call back.
In November 2018 a warning light on the display indicated a malfunction of the airbag system. I took it to the dealer where I purchased the vehicle and had it diagnosed. Their analysis indicated that there was corrosion on the left front sensor and they recommended replacement of the left front sensor and the wiring harness. This wiring harness encompasses almost the entire roof. They estimated the time to replace the harness and sensor would be about 10 hours and the cost would be approximately $4000. This car has never been in an accident nor has it been struck by lightning. It has also been kept in a heated garage the entire 4 years. To my knowledge a wiring harness is not a wearable item.
