Toyota makes quality equipment and the water pump should not have gone bad. The water pump supplier must make crappy water pumps.
Why doesn't Toyota take care of stuff like this? I couldn't get Toyota to do anything because there was no warranty.
Be careful at Carlsbad Toyota, CA. They also charged me $600 to replace a front wheel bearing at the same time they did the water pump. They said it needed to be replaced and I was 1400 miles from home so said to go ahead and do it. I probably got hustled for that. I guess they needed more from me to keep up their beautiful facility that had a Starbucks cafe in it.
