We have had this vehicle about a year and a half, 2023 Toyota Tundra and have had to take it back and forth to McLarty Toyota for recall work. Concerning this particular recall, 24ta07-Engine may stall during driving, we were told is unfixable. If this vehicle cannot be fixed, we are demanding it be replaced with a reliable truck

While traveling at highway speed, with no warning my truck lost acceleration power. There were other vehicles in the road, and I had to travel across multiple lanes to get to an exit while the vehicle was continuously slowing down. This put myself and my children at risk due to the sudden loss of power. I was able to exit and turn the engine off, after which, the problem seemed to stop. I took my truck to the dealership where it was purchased to have them check the truck, and they were unable to reproduce the problem. Their inspection only showed them that there were engine misfires. They told me the issue would need to be reproduced or would need to happen to me again before anything could be done about it or before they could get Toyota involved. I did explain that I had the "Reduced Engine Power" and "Brake System Malfunction" warning light that, through my research, have been experienced with other Tundra owners when they had "engine failures."

North Park Toyota knowingly sold me a 2023 Toyota Tundra with defective brakes and defective air conditioning. The brakes screach randomly, startling me as a driver and othwr drivers on the road. This causes me to react in an unsafe way, misapplying the brakes or not even applying the brakes at all when I hear the screaching sounds. Sometimes the vehicle brakes hard, sometimes not at all, and sometimes the vehicle feels as if the brakes are always on. It is very frightening. The dealership lied and said the brakes were still new at 18,000 miles. Then they said it was a "known issue" that they couldn't fix. They sold me a lemon and they knew it from the very beginning. I want my 2018 Tundra back that I traded in. They can buy this defective lemon back from me or I will sue Toyota and the individuals involved in selling this lemon to me. The brakes are defective 100 percent of the time I drive it, and it's worse when the weather changes. This truck ia dangerous and they knew it when they tricked me into buying it. I have complained to the dealership numerous times. They have no intention of addressing this problem whatsoever. I was conned into buying a vehicle they knew was a lemon.

- For the brakes, one month after the purchase date (November 2022), the brakes make a loud screech and to this date (17 May 2024), they still screech. I have took it into the dealer to report it and they still don't have a remedy. - My engine had something internally brake on Easter Sunday 2024. When I first took it to the dealer on Monday, it took a day or two and they found nothing wrong. I picked it up and noticed a loud tapping noise coming from the engine, I took it back to the dealer, the technician opened up the motor and found metal shavings all over the inside of the motor. I had it replaced within a month and a half later, wow, brand new and this is what happened.

My brakes have been squeaking since I purchased this brand new vehicle. It wasn-??t too bad in the beginning, It was safe to assume, being new truck that I needed to drive it more or so I was told, by a friend. Then, after the first oil change, I started to realize that either my brakes were going bad, and/or it just didn-??t feel too safe, especially driving through rainy conditions. So by the time my next few oil change with dealerships, I complained and wanted brakes checked. I was never told they are fine other than they were inspected on paperwork, so that was reassuring until, it started up again. Fast forward to recalls being done and again, I complained about brakes, and a Toyota consultant told me that was a common complaint and all he could do was clean up build up or dirt, and possibly may do the trick. Which was nice, and it helped for maybe a day or two and then started back up! I have no choice other than to trade it, although aside from that brake issue, I want to keep this truck! I feel this issue is dangerous and why hasn-??t there been some type of solution from Toyota" Is it going to take for drivers and family to be killed in accidents for something to be done" This is aside from being annoying and embarrassing when pulling up in a brand new truck and these brakes squeezing so loudly - and also, and most importantly the safety of my family and self while in this truck! I love the truck and every other vehicle I have bought through Toyota, but this safety issue has forced me after no answers from Toyota to write this complaint in hopes something can be done soon. Please keep me updated.

This truck was sold even while it was under recall over 1 year ago. That recall, for fuel tank issues STILL cannot be repaired as there are STILL not enough parts being distributed to dealers to fix it. Since that time, 2 additional recalls have been issued and dealers have no indication when they will be able to fix it. This vehicle should be treated as a lemon and taken off the road at Toyota's expense.

A few complaints: #1: First is the infotainment system continuously requests a pin be entered. I would enter the pin, but the pin screen pops up again and again whenever the system is on. Had the dealership look at it, they stated the info system has the latest software and I was instructed to contact Toyota. After a 2+hour phone call, resetting app passwords a few times, resetting pin a few times, starting the truck a certain way, and other things I cannot completely remember, finally got it to accept the pin and stop pin request screen from popping up. That worked for about 1 week, and since then the screen pops up. I no longer try to enter the pin just hit the x button (kind of hard and dangerous entering 6 digit pin 30 times while going 75 on the highway). I would estimate screen popping up about every 1-2 minute. #2: Truck has 6,400 miles on it, brakes started squealing around 4k miles or less, getting progressively worse. I have tried washing brake dust away at car wash, no help. Sounds like when a car is getting to the last of the brakes. Are they that worn in 6k miles, I hope not, but how am I supposed to know when or if they need to be replaced? Very annoying, and dangerous since I can't rely on the brakes squealing to let me know need replaced. #3: 1 week ago after stopping at a red light, about 5 seconds passed when the truck jerked violently and slightly moved forward, all while I had the brake pedal pressed. It was so hard I was certain I had just got rear ended, but as I looked in the mirror preparing to get out of the truck, I saw the car behind me was barely approaching 20+ feet back. This is only time it has happened so far, but very concerning, will let the dealership know as well, but I can already hear their response "we weren't able to replicate the issue". Fuel line recall, still haven't fixed it (but will be setting appointment to take it in for all the described things, again, and hopefully get my 2nd key, been 9 months already).

There has been a known issue and recall on this vehicle since August with both personal and public life threatening events. Official notifications are just being shared from Toyota with no sight line provided for permanent fix. This causes significant cause for concern and angst in daily driving of the vehicle. If a fix isn-??t available, a complete vehicle recall and exchange should be provided as resolution. These are serious life threatening circumstances that could impact myself, my family or innocent bystander. I feel unsafe and hold Toyota and National highway traffic and safety directly liable. The enforcement and the assumed liability by Toyota of delivering a safe vehicle should be upheld.

When proceeding ahead from a stop with no one in front of me, after traveling ahead at a normal pace, the emergency braking system activated and the truck came to an abrupt stop. This occurred after traveling about 5 feet and luckily the person behind me did not rear end me. After this panic stop the truck then proceeded ahead as normal. This is the first time this has happened to me since purchased new. Currently has 3870 miles.

The car auto adaptive cruise control does not use the transmission for downhill breaking. It just rides the brakes coming down now. The car started shaking from overheating the brakes and I said realizing that it just not working in tune with the transmission. This is very dangerous. I have to turn off the cruise control and he manually downshift so break system of start working again. It was shaking so violently wouldn't stop.

Merging into a highway vehicle lost power. Wouldn-??t accelerate above 50 mph. Had multiple warning come on the dash, power lost, hybrid system failure, park daisy failure. Turned my hazards on a proceeded to safety. Definitely nerve racking, wouldn-??t want this to happen when merging lanes in fast moving heavily traffic road. Accident waiting to happen. Toyota is completely silent about it.
