- Dealer Daily Message: **Modified Vehicle Handling Process UPDATE** Certain 2018 ? 2019 Model Year Tacoma and Tundra Millimeter Wave Radar Sensor Handling Procedure for Modified Vehicles Some vehicles may have modifications not authorized or approved by Toyota that make it impossible to perform the remedy for this Special Service Campaign. Toyota does not recommend installing aftermarket, non-Toyota authorized parts or accessories or Toyota parts not originally intended for the vehicle model and cannot evaluate how those modifications could affect a vehicle's operation. This is especially true for the PCS system, because it uses a camera and radar device that has an adjustment based on the vehicle?s original suspension design. It is best to restore the vehicle to its original condition prior to the remedy being performed. Any cost to do this is the customer?s responsibility. As a result, at this time, if a vehicle has modifications of the type noted below, Toyota does NOT RECOMMEND the remedy be performed with the vehicle in its current modified condition. Toyota cannot determine how modifications not authorized or evaluated by Toyota can affect the alignment of the PCS sensor. Please advise the owner that the vehicle?s special service campaign status will remain open, and the remedy will be performed FREE OF CHARGE when the vehicle is returned to a condition in which the remedy can be made.
