Randomly the air bag light comes on saying that their is an malfunction in one of the air bags. The dashboard light comes on more frequently when the weather is hot out side. Can-??t remember the date when it started but it-??s been happening a lot and Toyota said their are no recalls or issues with that are known and I would need to pay which is costly.
I was driving down a dirt road and I hit a pothole going around 5to8 mph and my air driver side airbags deployed. Both side curtains steering and below the wheel deployed
Airbag light came on during a long hwy drive home, had vehicle checked out and pulled code B1863. Code was checked and everything checked good, so code was reset. It's been over a month and airbag light just came back on during a drive home. Taking it in to see if it's the same ode or a different one this time.
I was driving approx 5-15 mph on a smooth, paved, slightly uphill road when my drivers side airbags deployed. There was no accident or bumps in the road. The front and back seat drivers side airbag deployed as well as the drivers seat airbag. The seat belt retractor also locked up. There is no damage to the vehicle on the outside what so ever. It has 57, xxx miles. I purchased it new and all service has been performed at the purchasing dealership. This is the first issue in what has been an extraordinary vehicle up to this point.

Received Toyota urgent safety recall letter for defective side curtain-shield-airbags (csa) on 11/7/14. Contacted my Toyota dealership today (11/10/14) to schedule inspection and garnish replacement, as necessary. Had to speak to four service reps before talking to [xxx], service dept. Mgr. He informed me they don't have replacement parts for this recall and that letters have gone out already simply to "beat" the press. No parts availability date was offered. They will inspect the vehicle but expect the customer to make a second trip to shop when replacement parts are actually available. Classic example, in our opinion, how much these recalls have become a game between car manufacturers and oversight agencies.
