Got off from work, hit the highway and the engine light came on and couldn't go faster then 20-25 mph. The dash also said that the traction control was off. I called roadside assistance for Toyota and waited 3 hours for a wrecker to pick up the truck and it was 3 degrees outside. My friend also has a 2014 Tundra and his did the same thing on the same day basically a $42,000 lemon.
Come to find out it is the line coming from the Air Injection Pump that had frozen. I guess they should change the name of the truck to Sunshine because that's the only time you can drive it. It only has 735 miles on it. I'm just glad it wasn't my wife in the freezing weather. What sucks is that we have bought 3 new Toyota's in the last 8 months, a Tacoma, 4Runner, and the Tundra. Toyota doesn't have a fix for the issue yet, but, they sent an email saying that there would be a recall so once the dealership puts on the band-aid, I get to take it back again.
I live 5 miles from work and the truck can't make it there, I guess it's good I don't travel much. The truck plant for Tundra's is in Texas, they may want to consider building one in Alaska that way they can see if they will run in the cold. Toyota will most likely lose sales to Eskimos. I live in Virginia where it's not very cold anyway. My advice to anyone that buys a 2014 Tundra is to get some hand warmers, wear a lot off clothes, and when it's below freezing make sure you are in walking distance of where you work. Also, don't be in a hurry if you take your Tundra cause top speed is about 25 mph and that's only on flat ground. They surely didn't pull the space shuttle in the winter months.
