Well, not much to say about the infamous cam tower oil leak - it is a very well known with certain years of the 5.7 engine. It started as a barely noticeable seep of around 83,000 miles and gradually turned into oil dripping on exhaust header and burning off. I finally took it in around 106,000 miles when small puddles of oil were detected on the ground. Fortunately I had purchased an extended warranty which covered the repair minus a small deductible.
I will note it took 5 trips to the dealership to finally get it repaired as they wanted to "fix" other things they thought was causing this leak after I stated many times it was the cam tower. I guess they wanted to milk my warranty company for as much as they could before actually fixing it, fortunately I drove a dealer loaner free of charge - so, yeah.
Same problem with oil leak from cam as described by these other guys. Thankfully my dealer's mechanic noticed this during routine inspection and the issue was disclosed. A loaner vehicle was offered at no cost immediately. The repairs are under way as I type. Never noticed burning oil smell, there is not any oil on the driveway. I only list this complaint so that others with the same engine (tundra/sequoia?) should know to specifically ask that their vehicle be checked for the same issue.
