Tundra

A D V E R T I S E M E N T S

The Tundra is a 2011 and the rear driver side wheel has been the issue. I was on a city street about 2am when a loud crash and thundering made driving very hard. The rear wheel had sheared off and was passing me by as I slowed down sparks flying like the fourth of July!! I had been going 25 miles an hour in a residential setting. I had the truck towed to the dealer whom agreed this was an obscure occurrence, to which they warrantied and fixed it. This occurred at 250,000 miles so that seemed like a satisfactory ending! however, at 3500 miles later going 70mph down interstate 20 at 4 am a horrendous crash ( noise) and almost flipping the same tire sheared again passing me by!! I was lucky that I didnt flip! Toyota explantion... they couldnt/wouldnt provide me one but did fix my problem as the friction sanded down into the rotor and shock absorber hanger!! not sure if other folks have had this experience?? I did encouter another fellow (my son) whom had the same experience at 250,000 miles on the driver side rear with a Toyota Tundra 2012 he owned. This is very dangerous and needs to be addressed as to what the root cause is!! I felt like Toyota took care of me repair wise but never got a straight answer from them on the cause!! I would appreciate your Agency and its resources looking into what is causing this dangerous condtion

Tundra 8-cyl

  • miles
Bought truck new with 99 miles showing, testdrive pulled hard to right, extremely hard brought back to dealership 3 days later to perform its first alignment, they did several that day, more than 16 alignment at that dealership truck still tracks right, every dip in road, any bump, truck veers right, July 2012 I had lemon law proceeding, the man came out and didn't drive, just sat in pass seat, dealership had the truck overnight once in june2012 and once in July 2012 before to fix issue, which did get better, then was denied cause it is under warranty, truck had oil change around nov2012 and I complained again, about front end dog tracking, they said its normal and no fix needed, but the truck was fixed from dog tracking but not put in writing, still veers right, now this truck has had problems like major vibration, replaced driveshaft at 2500 miles, dealership replaced wheels twice trying to figure where its coming from, while braking it pulled hard to right and had to fight steering wheel, now this is from the start it could literally take the car out on the side of you, with a crown or no crown the pulling right is excessive, and was about 80 % worst but I want it fixed correctly, can anyone help me get this truck to roll straight, im at 21,900 miles, yes I have paper work.
