2008 Toyota Tundra 4x4 it was still under warranty/also had extended warranty. I got to noticing that after using 4whl drive and after turning off engine and letting it sit from a few minutes to a day or so, when I would crank truck up, alarm would sound and light would show that it was still engaged in 4Lo even though selector switch was in 2HI. When I put truck in gear it would not go in any gear! I would have to switch back and forth between 2Hi & 4Lo three or four times before it would go back into 2HI.
Carried to dealer where I bought it. Still under warranty & they said they could not find any readings or codes that showed any problems. They said that unless it was doing it while it was at their shop so they could get a reading on it that there was nothing they could do. NEEDLESS TO SAY IT NEVER DID IT WHILE AT THE SHOP!!! Here it is 2016 and it still does it..Sometimes it may go two weeks doing this routine before it finally stops and not do it again until I use 4 wheel drive again. Over all it has been a good truck!!!!!
