Toyota Recall : Aftermarket Alloy Wheel Lug Nuts

Cracked or broken wheel nuts could result in a vehicle crash.

- Summary
- Southeast Toyota is recalling alloy wheel lug nuts used for the 18" diamond finish 5-spoke alloy wheels and 20" painted alloy wheels with 6-dual spokes sold as an upgrade package for 2007 Toyota Tundra model vehicles. The wheel nuts can crack and break if the wheels are not installed carefully or not carefully tightened. This wheel nut condition could occur at the time of wheel installation, tire rotation, or service.
- Actions
- Southeast Toyota will notify owners and replace the wheel nuts with a more robust wheel nut free of charge. The recall began on April 21, 2008. Owners may contact southeast Toyota customer loyalty department toll-free at 800-301-6859.
