2007 Toyota Tundra. Consumer writes in regards to air injection system pump malfunction. The consumer stated while driving, the check engine light illuminated. Almost immediately, there was a sudden loss of power, which almost caused him to come to a complete stop. The consumer took the vehicle to his local mechanic, who informed him of what the failure was. When the mechanic called Toyota about the parts, the mechanic was informed about an extended warranty from three years/36,000 to five years/ 70,000. The mechanic was also informed about a defect with the system, which caused water infiltration, which could compromise the system. The mechanic advised the consumer to visit the dealer. The dealer did confirm the diagnosis was correct. However, the consumer was informed the warranty only applied to a few states and the consumers stated was not included. The consumer paid $2300 for the repair.
