On Dec 9th I was pulling into my store and was getting ready to back up into my parking spot. I had the car in drive with my foot on the brake and was just about to put the vehicle in reverse when all of a sudden the car roared like no one's business and before I knew it the truck accelerated and surged forward (while pressing the brake pedal) and ran into the my store's facade practically going through halfway in the store. The damage was extensive to both my vehicle and the store front. I almost ran over my 16 yr old daughter inside the store. It was horrific!
My insurance company is repairing everything but Toyota refuses to acknowledge this problem with my particular model. This is BS! I can't be the only person this has happened to. I don't know what to do when I get the truck back. I'm scared to death I'll kill someone or kill myself if this happens again. I still don't know what caused this to happen as the insurance company only repairs the cosmetic issues. Has anyone else had this happened to them and if so, what was the cause and how was it fixed? Any input would be greatly appreciated. I will NEVER buy another Toyota ever again. They simply do not care about the customer.
