The contact owns a 2005 Toyota Tundra. The contact stated that the emergency brake was malfunctioning. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer, who diagnosed that the failure was due to corrosion and the parking brake needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 47,500 and the current mileage was 47,972. The VIN was not available.
Parking brake engaged partially. Also the engine idled too fast. This combination lead to the vehicle to start moving unexpectedly. As a result my wife injurered her foot and damage to the vehicle was sustained. This could have easily resulted in a fatality.
