In April of 2024 I purchased this 2020 certified used Tacoma from my local dealership. About a month in I started noticing a knocking sound coming from the left engine bay with the knock following the RPM’s. It would get louder as the days passed and I became worried. I got the truck looked at and they ran a camera in the cylinder, which showed scoring in the cylinder which caused the piston to slap. Thankfully the repair was fully covered under warranty or I would not be able to afford the repair. Possible cause: Cold starts in winter (oil pan heater recently installed)
