It took the dealership 5 visits to get this right. One tech would say it's fine & normal, and I 'd bring it in the next week & they would ask to keep it and fix it. Replaced and/or adjusted drums 2x. Replaced bad drive shafts once. This made biggest difference but not perfect. Toyota knows they bought a huge batch of bad driveshafts. They were still putting them on in early 2019 at the Mexico factory while they had already been replacing them on late 2017 & 2018s. The rear leafs seem to be too flimsy as well allowing too much flex on deceleration which contributes to the vibes. I honestly think Toyota created it's first stepchild in these models of Tacomas, I traded mine with less than 10k miles.
On deceleration, my brand new 2019 Toyota Tacoma SR5 with 525 miles produces a low-speed vibration and shutters noticeably as it comes to a full stop.
I'll see what solution is offered by the dealer and Toyota. If I knew what I know now before I made the decision to buy a Tacoma, I would never have invested in this truck.
I leased a 2019 Toyota Tacoma SR5 in Jan 2019 and had it a couple of months and then the "shuddering" started. I would drive along here in Florida, and as I would speed up and then slow down as I went through the red lights, during the speeds of 40-65, I would feel the shuddering either as I would speed up or slow down. When I would speed up to 65-70, the shuddering would start around 55-65 mph and then stop, I could feel the vibrations in the gas pedal and the steering wheel.
I have taken the truck in 3 times. The first time (June) the dealership replaced the fuel pump in the gas tank, and shuddering was still there. The 2nd time (Sept), techs said "whoever worked on it last time forgot to put a hose back on so that's why it was still shuddering" I don't believe this to be accurate at all. The 3rd time (Nov), just this last Wednesday, the techs said they hooked it up, drove it around the block and that nothing is wrong. I am beginning to think this is a lemon and that I should hire me a lawyer. The shuddering is not normal and it is so annoying. I am glad that I found this site and that I am not the only one. This really confirms to me that something is definitely wrong. Do we have a case??
I did not notice this issue with my brand new 2019 Tacoma SR5 from Lakeland (FL) Toyota on the test drive, which was a trip around the block. But when driving on the streets and highway the truck shudders and shakes when slowing down or braking. I feel it thru the pedals and steering wheel. It is unsettling. It also does this, just not quite as noticeably, when driving at low speeds or getting up to highway speed. I see this is another Tacoma complaint posted here.
When I took it in for service, I was told it had a warped driveshaft. They replaced it but that did not fix the problem. At all. The service guys told me the shaking was a known 'driveability issue' and Toyota would have a fix within a month. That was May 14, 2019. They sent a service tech out to take a picture of the rear end, to get the number off it. But as of June 14, still no fix.
I called Lakeland Toyota service and they say corporate told them they do not yet have an answer. They are 'working on it.' That was it, over-and-out. So now I am stuck with a truck I hate to drive and whose mechanical integrity is getting compromised every time I make a trip.
On declaration the truck vibrates in the steering wheel, seat, and floor. Feels like you are driving over a rumble strip. Happens when coming to a stop or decelerating from 30 mph to 10 mph. Tires are balanced correctly, alignment and tire pressure are correct. Has been happening since 1st day of ownership. Brought it back to the dealership but they do not know what is the cause or how to fix it. Toyota needs to find the root cause and issue a TSB, this is affecting a lot of 2019 owners.
